SIA Door Supervision Training
Security South West provide HABC/SIA accredited courses in Door Supervision in Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall. Providing the candidates with their Award in Door Supervision. Our instructors are all S.I.A. approved and professionals within their fields.

Unlike most other training providers, Security South West take our training levels beyond the S.I.A. requirements to take into account ‘what really happens on the ground’. All too often we have heard Door Supervisors say that “What they teach you does not work, you can tell whoever designed this course has never worked on a door”. So we have addressed this issue within our courses. Drawing on the skills and expertise of specialists employed by our company, we are able to provide both advanced classroom and ‘on the ground’ knowledge that will give you the edge when it really counts.

We are able to provide you with the skills that do work on the ‘frontline’ rather than just what ‘ticks the boxes’ on an exam paper.

The cost of this course is only £208.50 including VAT.

In August 2011, the S.I.A. completed their change over to the new Door Supervisor training specifications. The new course includes;

Counter Terrorism
First Aid
Physical Intervention

As a point of note, we have included these elements within our training for some time now and will obviously continue to do so.

Security Industry Authority statistics show that 97.75% of Door Security Supervisors polled, were ‘threatened with violence’ whilst carrying out their duties. This is a statistic, which shocked the S.I.A but a statistic that anyone who has actually worked as Door Supervisor will not be surprised by. The S.I.A. have now caught up with the reality that Door Supervisors constantly face the threat of ‘violence in the workplace’ and they are hoping to address that realisation with the re-introduction of ‘Physical Intervention’ as a part of their course.

A lack of Physical Intervention skills can and indeed does lead to claims being made against Companies, Venues and individual Security Supervisors for Vicarious Liability. In turn this can and does lead to:

Risk of your insurance premiums rising
Risk of Security Supervisors losing their badges and subsequently their jobs.

We can help you defend against these threats.

“Good Door Security Supervision is the
result of good training”
